WE HAD THE CHANCE TO CATCH UP WITH JAKE AND GET TO KNOW THE REAL MAN HE IS. WHAT WE FOUND WAS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING, AND SIMPLY BRILLIANT.
I want to build an image that is clean, masculine, and beautiful. Not just any studio can do that for you.
Xavier: You’re fairly new to the industry, most models come in already know who the want to shoot with, having seen a scene they’ve done already. Are there any models that you want to work with urgently?
Jake: The truth is I didn?t really watch much porn before I started doing porn so I honestly can?t name too many names. Topher Dimaggo is kind of my ideal guy. Incidentally, we?re already friends. Generally speaking, I really like younger guys. Muscle or slim, smooth or hairy, doesn?t matter to me at all. I die for a pretty face and a beautiful smile melts me. In the past I?ve said that my type is non-white, like Latin or Hispanic. That hasn?t changed but I?ve spent a lot of time in England lately rolling for MENATPLAY and I?m really getting into younger white guys also.
Xavier: What did you do before porn?
Jake: I was a cop for 8 years and took an early retirement. When I left the police department I was a sergeant and the supervisor of an investigative unit before that, I worked the streets as a beat cop, field training officer, and supervisor.
Xavier: So now you do porn full time?
Jake: Porn is my full time job now although I am trying to work with only the best studios to put forth a good image. I want to build an image that is clean, masculine, and beautiful, not just any studio can do that for you.

Jake: I hate to say this because it ruins the mystique but I work out twice a day: Cardio and abs in the morning on an empty stomach and I lift and do abs in the afternoon. I generally work out six days per week like this and have one day (yes, day 7) that I use to do a full body work out and concentrate on weak points or muscles that got skipped during the week.
Xavier: Sounds painful, you might as well have said you workout 7 days a week, that is essentially what you do. We thank you for it, you look amazing Jake. Everyone has their weakness. So spill the goods. What food do you love?
Jake: I watch my diet which is really hard since I love pastries and chocolate. I only eat carbs in the morning right after my workout.

Under all that sexiness, I found Jacob is such a humble man. In my eyes this will make him stand out in our industry, I can’t put into words how excited I am for people to read this next part of what Jake had to say, it truly gives him more character, and shows in many ways, just how down to earth he is.
Xavier: I would say, your eyes are the most unique features about you, but I really want to know more. DISH!
Jake: I?m shy. . . I?m honestly really, really shy. I don?t see myself the way others see me. I?m always surprised when someone says I’m hot or beautiful. On Saturday my MENATPLAY producer Adrian Wilke said I could be really famous in porn and I could be the next real MENATPLAY guy. When I hear things like that, I always think, ?Who me?? It all seems too good to be true sometimes. Although I am well educated and well traveled, I?m a simply guy. I grew up in a pretty poor family in the mountains of rural Idaho. Although I speak four languages and have lived all over the world, I?m still just a small town boy. I always try to be polite and honest. You will rarely hear me complain and I?m happy to do what I?m asked to do. I walk into the MENATPLAY studio and say to Adrian and Andy or to Kristen Bjorn when I work with him, “Ok Boss, what do you need?” I think part of that I bring over from the police department where we learned to follow orders. It?s a little different in porn but I still have the same professional attitude and I hope I can keep it. I?m happy and supportive of new guys since I?m so new myself and it can all be pretty intimidating but I’m also eager to learn from the more experienced guys. I ask lots of questions and observe a lot. I’m a perfectionist and I want to do everything just right.
Xavier: I see. The industry is hardcore, check out the blog comments and it will tell you all you need to know. On the outside you look the part of a rough God, what’s underneath?
Jake: I?m a masculine guy and I?ve been a cop and I’m muscular and I can fix things. People expect me to be sort of aloof and detached. I might not seem like it on camera or even out in public but I am a really, really sensitive guy too. Sometimes I think I might be too sensitive to make it in this industry. I fall in love easily and take peoples comments to heart. I think that makes me sensitive to other people?s feelings too. I remember reading in a review somewhere that someone hated the beautiful ‘Jacob Wrestles with the Angel’ tattoo that I have on my left shoulder. It really bothered me, not only because I love the tattoo but because the artist, who is very talented spent hours and hours doing it. It?s also difficult to accept sometimes that I am piece of meat. There are people, probably the majority who won?t care what I have to say in this interview. They don?t want me to be a person- they want to see me fuck and getting fucked. I have to learn to accept that. Although it is sometimes hard to be sensitive in this industry, I hope I never lose that. It makes me sweet and caring and kind… in addition to being a fuck machine what more could anyone want in a guy right? Being sensitive, when I fall in love with a guy, I fall hard and with reckless abandon. That?s going to hurt me in the porn industry I think too.
Xavier: Very interesting. Jake, I want to switch tracks for a moment. Does your family know you do gay porn?
Jake: My family knows. Facebook makes it easy to tell people things without actually telling them. I don?t discuss details with them. My mom did ask me why MENATPLAY is called MENATPLAY instead of MENATWORK if we are always wearing suits. I wanted to say, ‘Because we take the suits off and fuck.’ But I left it alone.

Chad: MAP & Trophy go way back. At least since I have been working here, curious to know however, what’s it like being on set? Is it boring, fun, hard work? Spill the goods Jake!
Jake: I’ve only worked for two producers: Kristen Bjorn and MENATPLAY. Both have been very different and very good experiences. From both producers I have learned a great deal and I am extremely grateful for the opportunities they have given me.
MENATPLAY is a really fun environment. There is a lot of laughing and joking that goes only while filming and that helps to take your mind off the fact that you are standing there naked and fucking in front of four or five other people. That being said, they take the work seriously and want to put out the best product that they can. That means they work their models hard. They push my limits. They teach me new things and to do things in new and better ways. I feel respected as a person and as a professional. Everyone has taken time to give me advice about my career choices and acted as a mentor which is really important for someone who is new in the industry.
All the scenes that I’ve been in at MENATPLAY have been directed by Adrian Wilke, who has become very quickly like a father figure to me. I absolutely live for his approval during these scenes for some reason. At the end of a scene after I’ve cum, he always claps and says, ‘That was AMAZING!’ I absolutely live for that moment and for those words.
Chad: Thanks dude! Back to you Xavier.
Xavier: So, you said you shot 6 scenes, I talk to MENATPLAY models on the regular. One thing we all agree on, and the one thing ANY man agrees on would be the fact that suits are hot as hell to work in, let alone fuck in. How long did it take you to shoot those scenes, and how were the suits for you?
Jake: MENATPLAY generally, if not always, does one scene per day as opposed to Kristen Bjorn who may take up to four days to shoot a scene for a full length movie-different style. MENATPLAY brought me into the studio three days at a time about three weeks apart. So six scenes in six days. They days are long, usually starting around 10:00 or 11:00 and not finishing until 17:00 or 18:00. The longest scene went from 1000 to 19:00 but it was a group scene so we expected it to take longer. The hardest part is not breaking for lunch.
Every scene I have done for MENATPLAY has been in, or at least started in a suit. I think it?s cool. I wore suits in the last part of my career in the police department. To me a suit represents power and control. It also represents masculine beauty and elegance. Not just anyone can wear a suit well. Doing interrogations in the police department we learned how to use the suit to send different messages: jacket on, tie tight says- professional and formal; jacket off, sleeves rolled up, tie loose says one of two things- I?ve relaxed or I?m getting ready to work you over and this interrogation is about to get a lot tougher for you.
I like how MENATPLAY uses the suit build tension in a scene… the models want it off because we?re hot and we want to see and feel each other?s bodies and the fans want them off too… we take them off, bit by bit… the tension as each article of clothing is removed is palpable.

Xavier: Jake how old are you exactly?
Jake: I was born February 11, 1980 so that makes me 27. Just kidding. I?m 32. I think with age I?ve really grown into myself and become better both physically and mentally.
Xavier: And what’s your fav music artist?
Jake: I listen to a lot of electronica. My favorite DJ?s are Ana Paula, Abel, Pier Mills, Armin Van Buuren, and Paulo). I also like to dance to heavy trance music half the time I go to a club and listen to the music and think THIS IS FUCKING AMAZING and I don?t even know who is spinning. When I?m feeling particularly sensitive like any gay guy I’ll listen to Adel or Leona Lewis (Collide makes me tear up almost every time). Jake: I have a degree in philosophy from the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley, California. I also did some graduate studies in psychology in Berkeley. From 19-22 I lived in a monastery and was studying to be a Catholic Priest (hence the philosophy degree). When I graduated from the university I became a police officer in Oakland, California.
Xavier: What are your views on bareback or unprotected sex in the industry? Would you ever consider it?
Jake: Barebacking I feel is an intensely personal choice. It is a decision that must be made between informed and consenting people. If guys make the decision to bareback they should do only after informing themselves of the potential health risks. In the end, every person is responsible for their own choices. However I am proud to say that the producers I work for work exclusively in safer sex. I think this provides a good example that safer sex is hot and easy to do. Xavier: As you know the USA is going through a bit of a rough time with the economy. It’s so bad, millions are out of work, but there are also other pressing matters in the world. Give me a little insight, of how you perceive the critical situations at hand.
Jake: I?m so proud that we elected Barack Obama as President of the United States and I?m proud the he and Vice President Biden have finally taken a clear stand on gay marriage. I live in shame every day that I can?t get married in my own country and have it be recognized in every state. That is a black eye on the face of America. The president was handed a crashing economy and I think he?s done the very best he can. He?ll get four more years in November and when he leaves office after his second term I think things will have really turned around.
The whole world is focused on jobs and the economy but we?re really focused on the global economy. I think it?s an interesting social science lesson that we?re all in this together now. The EU is setting a good example of accountability and hard choices are being made. I hate to see cuts to health care, public safety, and education but it?s happening. I think we have to find ways to make everything more efficient without cutting services. But I get paid for having sex for a living so… my economy is doing ok.
Xavier: Yes!!! Obama RUNS THIS MUTHA! – Sorry, I lost it for a second. I’ve got to say however, I find myself more concerned with what the weather is doing to my grass on the front lawn. My economy as you said, is also doing ok. Thank God.
Jake: Haha.
Xavier: So what’s the best way for me. . . I mean a lucky fan to win a date with you. Tell me, what I’m working with here. Are you a quick nut kinda guy or are you a romantic. I love a deep romantic. Come on, dish the goods Jacob.
Jake: Haha… I am definitely not a fuck and get a nut kinda guy. Jake Genesis is always usually that kind of guy in scenes but Jake in real life just isn’t. I live in Spain so I live my life in Spanish and I really like the way the word conquistar (to conquer) is used as it relates love. In English it sound awful but in Spanish it works. I hardly every hook up since I?ve started doing porn. I mean seriously, hardly ever. In the US I had two amazing dogs that I rescued from the streets in Oakland while I was working patrol. One was a Pit Bull and the other was a Rottweiler. They were awful when I first got them but after a few months they were the most well trained dogs in the dog park. I’m a perfectionist I told you. I live in an apartment in Madrid and I travel a lot so I can?t really have a dog right now. If I got one, it would be another rescue dog… wait… that?s kind of how I have found most of my ex-boyfriends too.

Jake: On March 21st 2009 four Oakland Police Officers were shot and killed in the line of duty. I was there that day and I was the Primary Internal Affairs Investigator for the case. They were my friends and my brothers. The tattoo on my back says in Latin ‘FORTIS ET LIBRE’ which means ‘Strong and Free’ and has the date of their deaths on the Julian calendar below it in roman numerals. The one on my chest is a cross with barbed wire wrapped around it and piercing it with blood dripping out of the wounds. It says in Latin, ‘Vivere et vincere’ which means ‘To Live is to Conquer.’ Both tattoos are honor of my dead colleagues.
On my left side is written, ‘Memento Vivere’ which can mean two things ‘Remember to Live’ or ‘Live the Moment.’ On my right side is written, ‘Hoc est enim corpus meum’ (‘This is my body’) which is the most sacred part of the Roman Catholic Mass when the priest lifts up the bread and it is transformed into the body of Christ, these are the words spoken by Christ at the Last Supper. For me it has a double meaning. It is a proclamation of faith in some way and a tie to my roots as a Catholic and a man who studied to be a priest but it is also a reclamation of my body, MY BODY which I will do with as I please.
Lastly, my left shoulder is an adaptation of an 1876 work called Jacob Wrestling the Angel by Leon Bonnat originally done in Pencil and black chalk on paper. I had the tattoo artist remove Jacob?s loin cloth so that they would both be completely naked. I also wanted both Jacob and the angel muscled up so that they looked stronger and more masculine. The original work and story from the book of Genesis from the Bible is very homoerotic and my tattoo really brings that out. My birth name is Jacob although I have always been called Jake and my porn name is Jake Genesis. Does it represent my struggle with God or my desire to make love to this beautiful angel with the masculine body and perfect boyish face? Yes. It does.
Xavier: That’s deep. What’s your day to day?
Jake: When I’m not making porn I’m actually pretty boring. I get up around 1000, make an espresso or mate and rush to the gym to do cardio and abs before I eat. I say rush because I wake up absolutely STARVING every single day. I have a protein shake, a banana, and some granola cereal with dried fruit and almond flavored light soy milk. On the way home I buy chicken breasts and tomatoes which I cook in olive oil and have for lunch. If I?m feeling like a cheater, I?ll have an orange or some watermelon. In the afternoon I run errands, meet friends for coffee or do some work (I?m working on a blog which I will probably never publish). I love. I repeat. I love to take a Spanish siesta in the afternoon. When I wake up I usually eat another chicken breast and head to the gym to lift. I eat the same thing for dinner as I did for lunch usually. In the evening I might meet up with some friends in Chueca, Madrid?s gay neighborhood but usually I just stay home, watch a little TV, read, or study. I usually eat again before bed. I?m starting to see that my life revolves around food and sleep.
Xavier: What are your ultimate goals for this industry?
Jake: I don?t do porn for the money. My cock would fall off and my ass would be broken if I did enough porn to get rich. I don?t do it for the attention which is, much of the time pretty superficial and sometimes pretty negative. I do porn because I can, because I have the freedom to. I do it because it captures my imagination and holds my interest. I do it because it?s a new world full of interesting people who each have a story as interesting, or more interesting than my own. I do it because I can.
Is my ultimate goal to become a world famous porn star? Not really. I would like to have so many good offers that I have to turn down even good work. I would like to be a porn model that people want to talk to and not just look at. I want to understand the industry and people in the and the consumers who drive it. Ultimately, I?m not looking for anything more than to do it absolutely perfectly and to have someone clap at the end and say, ‘That was amazing!’ like Adrian Wilke does at the end of all my scenes at MENATPLAY.
Xavier: And this is why I already LOVE You. Jake it has truly been a pleasure, and I would be sad but considering you are going to be around Trophy Blog a lot more I can honestly say I brought home a new husband. Jake: I?m working on a blog or something that I haven?t published yet. It has two editions so far the first is called, ‘…so that?s when I started doing porn.’ It?s about the back stories of the models, including my own, that so few people are interested in and how the ‘porn star’ is seen as both subhuman or superhuman and our desire, or mine at least to be seen as a human being.
