Review
Blending two families together by marriage can often lead to all sorts of complications, both practical and emotional. But in the case of the family on display in Jodi West’s “Blended & Twisted #1,” those complications tend to spiral off into the realms of sex and seduction.
Jodi is the mother of this particular blended bunch, and she’s got a new husband joining the family, complete with a trouble-making step-son (Jimmy Legend) in tow. She already has two kids to keep track of, a step-son from a previous marriage (Levi Cash), and an adopted daughter (Lexi Kartel).
Things start off innocently enough with Levi approaching his mom while she prepares the kid’s sack lunches. He’s withdrawn and quiet, barely saying a word, and Jodi picks up on his odd behavior right away. She inquires as to what’s been bothering the boy, only to find out that Levi is feeling insecure about his place in the changing shape of their family.
This is where our first scene of sexual endeavor blasts off. Jodi assures Levi that everything will be alright, and makes a date for the two of them to meet in Jodi’s bedroom once Levi is out of school. Fast forward to later that afternoon, and the two of them end up facing each other over Jodi’s mattress. Jodi does her best to assure Levi that he’s still going to be the man of the house in her eyes, and then proceeds to convince him by giving Levi the best “afternoon delight” he’ll likely ever experience.
This scene between Jodi West and Levi Cash is palm-scorchingly hot. The two of them have a truckload of on-screen chemistry, and either Jodi West had a handful of genuine climaxes before the whole thing was over, or she’s the best damn actress I’ve ever seen. The two of them were obviously enjoying every bit of what was happening, and it really manages to show through in the finished product. If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s performers who barely want to be there, and this was definitely not the case with Jodi and Levi.
I think my only minor complaint about this scene, and really all of the scenes in this film, is that so little dirty-talk happens during the course of the action. They’re pretty good about establishing the taboo nature of the relationships before, and often after the action as well. But during the actual sex act, it’s fairly common for everyone to just clam up and do their business in something close to absolute silence. Personally, I would have loved to see some roleplay-specific dirty-talk taking place in the middle of everything. You’d be surprised at how inspiring the occasional, “Mommy wants this” or “Mommy loves that” can be to a viewer of taboo pornography.
There are five sex scenes in total. And the second one involves a simple handjob happening between Lexi and her new step-brother Jimmy. There are a couple of reasons why this scene didn’t work for me, and the first one boils down to a simple lack of enthusiasm. After a very quick lead-in that involves Jimmy plopping down on the couch and demanding that Lexi give him a handjob, the two segue to the actual sex scene and proceed to mutely tolerate each others presence until Jimmy pops his load.
Once again, no dirty-talk or dialogue during the action takes place. And in fact, Lexi seems reluctant to even look at her male performer, choosing instead to just focus her attention on the guy’s cock, which she basically jerks in a very rinse-and-repeat manner until Jimmy reaches completion.
Jimmy, for his part, basically just lounges back on the couch and spaces out during the whole thing. He hardly reacts at all, and especially in the wake of Jodi and Levi’s scalding hot encounter, this new scene feels like a douse of cold water in the face. I don’t think anyone involved was having much fun, to be honest.
We find out that Mother Jodi was spying on the whole thing, and she confronts Lexi about it afterward. This slowly evolves into a lesbian encounter between Jodi and her adopted daughter, and once again, I was left feeling less than satisfied by the performance put forth by Lexi Kartel. Lexi is a beautiful young woman, and she may have plenty of spectacular performances under her belt for all I know. But for some reason, whether it was just an off day or maybe she wasn’t feeling good, these two scenes that follow one after the other definitely fail to showcase her talents.
While Jodi is eating Lexi out, the younger woman basically just lays there, with her eyes closed no less, and proceeds to emit the occasional half-interested moan or whimper. If I didn’t know any better, I’d swear she was taking a nap.
Thankfully, Jodi West managed to rescue the whole thing by thrashing around like a woman possessed when Lexi went down on her in kind, and the whole spirit and pace of the scene jacked up by several notches.
The next scene we encounter went a long way toward restoring my faith in Lexi Kartel’s abilities. This one was an extremely hot mattress-thumper between Lexi and her step-brother Levi. I don’t know if this guy has magic fairy dust loaded in his balls or what, but he had Lexi practically levitating off the bed in no time. There’s a whole lot of hot action taking place between Lexi and Levi on this one, and it really left me hopeful that perhaps Lexi had simply been off her game in the previous scenes for some odd reason.
The movie wraps up with Jodi confronting her new step-son, Jimmy, about his behavior with Lexi. She promptly informs him that Lexi is a confused young woman and not to be coerced into servicing Jimmy’s needs. She then proceeds to let him know that all of his needs can be met by her instead, and goes buck wild crazy, getting the two of them stripped and skin-slapping in no time flat. I don’t think Jodi and Jimmy had quite the same level of on-screen chemistry as Jodi did with Levi. But still, there was plenty of eye-bulging action taking place and more than enough heat to keep any jerk-hound happy.
Blended & Twisted #1 is not only the first installment in a new series of full-length, plot-driven adult films by Jodi West, it’s also one of the first films being released under her new production company, Forbidden Fruits Films. It’s obvious that she’s gone to great lengths in order to turn out a quality product. And everything from production values and dialogue, to her choice of performers and the manner in which scenes are filmed, seems to be coming off with barely a hitch.
I’m especially happy to see that many of her scenes involve large amounts of passionate kissing between performers, and that they’re not afraid to miss the occasional penetration shot in favor of letting the performers press chest-to-chest during a missionary scene. Small things like this, while often not thought about, go a long way toward elevating a scene from simply being a robotic in-and-out, to actually managing to capture some of the heat and passion of a real life couple.
In addition, there are two bonus scenes accessible from the main menu. One is a 20-minute encounter between Jodi and her step-son Levi, in which the two of them play a smoking hot game of strip poker. And the other is a 17-minute trist of older/younger lesbian action that serves as a sample of the content in one of Jodi’s upcoming films.
If this first peek at what Jodi West’s new endeavor has to offer is any indication, I’m sure we’ll be seeing a whole lot of high-quality forbidden fruits dropping from the tree in her backyard. Be sure to check out Blended & Twisted #1 when it becomes available in September.
